Climatologists at NASA have determined that 2016 is the hottest year on record for global temperatures. Thanks to an exceptionally powerful El Niño effect this year, we’ve seen six consecutive record-breaking months, some of which exceeded previous records by a full degree.
While it might not have been the hottest year for our local Lewisville, Lantana, Corinth and Denton areas, we certainly have felt the impact of nearly no winter or discernible autumn weather patterns this year, meaning your air conditioner has been working overtime and you may be tempted to delay turning your furnace on for as long as possible to save energy costs. While that’s understandable, the longer you wait to test your system, the less time you’ll have for maintenance and heating repairs.
With the recent demise of the El Niño that has driven these spiking temperatures, NOW is the time to prepare your furnace for the coming winter months. The capricious North Texas weather may find you switching between heating and cooling over the coming weeks, so preventive maintenance is especially important to help prolong the anticipated lifespan of your air conditioning and heating system and keep you happily enjoying a home climate you can control and rely on.
Call our office to schedule and we will gladly have our technicians help you get started on our Comfort Club comprehensive annual preventive maintenance program or opt for a one-time furnace inspection with our November promotion. As always, you can turn to us for any of your HVAC maintenance and repair needs in the Argyle, Flower Mound, Lewisville and surrounding cities.
